GOOD DAY!!! the BumbleBee is born

Well today was a great day...besides the rain. That said, I am going on vacation next week, so I went and picked up my passport in London today, and while I was there, I picked up my long awaited and anticipated Gasket set from Hully Gullys.

Upon returning from London, I stopped in at TPC Custom Powder coating and picked up my frame...which by the way is stunning in the sunlight, this image don't do the job justice...love the sparkle in it. Thanks to Tom, at TPC. While I'm waiting on wheels I will slowly start piecing the mess back together, piece by piece...wish me luck!!

Last night I spent a few hours, bringing the shine back to my carb covers, tedious work, but makes the carbs stand out. Years of grease and fume build up are no match for 250, 800, and 2000 grit sand paper, with the help of aluminum polish used to wet sand and buff it.

Engine painting begins...

Polished the cover, starting with 800 grit and worked my way up to wet sanding it with 2000 grit, after some needed buffing, I hope to achieve a mirror like surface...

Started painting the first coat...
